The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor typically needs replacement every 15 days, which is one day longer compared to the regular FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor.

  • Preparing the Sensor: Before applying the sensor, ensure the area is clean, dry, and free from creams, lotions, or oils. Gather the sensor pack, alcohol wipes, and the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus reader or compatible smartphone app.
  • Applying the Sensor: Open the sensor pack and remove the sensor. Use an alcohol wipe to clean the application site and let it dry. Attach the sensor to the cleaned area, pressing it firmly against the skin and holding for a few seconds.
  • Starting the Sensor: Activate the sensor by scanning the QR code using the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus reader or compatible app. This begins glucose monitoring.
  • Scanning and Getting Readings: Scan the sensor with the reader or set up smartphone app to receive real-time glucose readings and trend information.
  • Configuring Alarms (Optional): Set up alarms to notify you of high or low glucose levels by following the user manual or app settings.
  • Managing Data: Regularly scan to monitor glucose levels and use the data to manage your diabetes.
  • Replacing the Sensor: Replace every 15 days. Follow manufacturer's instructions for safe removal and disposal. Apply a new sensor as described above.

Safe Disposal: Dispose of used sensors in accordance with local guidelines for clinical waste.
