Sudafed Mucus Relief Triple Action - 16 Tablets

These Sudafed Mucus Relief tablets are a treatment for congestion that also help you to manage other cold and flu symptoms, helping to clear your blocked nose, relieve pain, and loosen phlegm.

There are three active ingredients which work together to relieve congestion and other symptoms: 250mg of paracetamol, a pain relief medication that can also bring down a high temperature; 100mg of guaifenesin, an expectorant which helps to loosen phlegm, in turn making it easier to cough up so you can clear out your airways; and 5mg of phenylephrine, a decongestant helping to reduce nasal passage swelling, making it easier to breathe and easing congestion.

Usage Instructions:

Suitable for use in adults and children aged 12 and over.

Take 2 tablets every 4 hours, as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets within any 24 hour period.

Swallow the tablets whole with a sip of water or another cool drink.

Ingredients:

Each white, capsule-shaped tablet contains the active ingredients: paracetamol 250 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg.

The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, povidone, hypromellose and polyethylene glycol.

Warnings:

If pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before using this product.

Speak to your doctor before using if you are currently taking over medications, especially:

• Medicines for high cholesterol, e.g. cholestyramine
• Anti-sickness medicines, e.g. metoclopramide or domperidone
• Blood thinners/anticoagulants, e.g. warfarin or other coumarins
• Barbiturates, used for epilepsy or to help you sleep, e.g. phenobarbitone
• Tricyclic antidepressants, e.g. imipramine or amitriptyline
• Medicines for heart or circulatory problems, or to lower blood pressure, e.g. digoxin, guanethidine, reserpine, or methyldopa
• Aspirin and other NSAIDs, e.g. ibuprofen or naproxen
• Migraine medicines, e.g. ergotamine or methysergide
• Zidovudine, as this may cause problems such as low white blood cell count
• Beta blockers, e.g. atenolol, or vasodilators, e.g. hydralazine
• Phenothiazines used as sedatives, e.g. chlorpromazine, periciazine, fluphenazine
• Other cold and flu medicines
• Other medicines containing paracetamol

This product can make you feel drowsy or dizzy. If this happens, do not attempt to drive or to use tools and machinery until you are sure the symptoms have passed.

You should not drink alcohol while using this product or any other decongestants. Alcohol can increase the drowsy effects of decongestants. 

Do not take it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. 

Do not take if you have any of the following conditions:

• Serious heart condition
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Overactive thyroid
• Glaucoma, to include closed angle glaucoma
• Enlarged prostate
• Difficulty passing urine

Speak to your doctor before using this product if you have any of the following conditions:

• Liver or kidney problems, including alcoholic liver disease
• Pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumour)
• Bad cough or asthma
• A fever, rash, or headache that won’t go away
• Circulatory disorders, e.g. Raynaud’s Phenomenon 
• Angina
• Stomach or intestinal products
• Phenylketonuria (a rare, inherited metabolic disorder)

Side effects may include the following. If experienced, stop use and speak to your doctor:

• Allergic reactions, which may be severe, including skin rash, peeling, itching, swollen red skin, shortness of breath, swelling of lips, tongue, throat or face
• Stomach upsets
• Tingling or coolness of the skin
• Faster or slower heartbeat
• Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
• Nervousness, tremors, convulsions
• Rise in body temperature
• Rise in blood pressure with headache, being sick, and irregular heartbeat
• Being more prone to bleeding, bruising, fever, and infections

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.

Do not take if the expiry date has passed.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.
